1st, 2nd and booster covid vaccinations still available across Lincolnshire

People across the county are being reminded that it is still not too late to get their covid vaccination.

NHS vaccination teams continue to work across Lincolnshire, to provide 1st, 2nd and booster doses of the covid vaccination, and have had a busy summer to-date supporting pop-up vaccination sessions at sites countywide.

“Everyone aged 5 and over can get two doses of the covid vaccination, with those aged 16 and over able to get a booster too,” explains Julie Humphreys, Head of Clinical Services, NHS Lincolnshire ICB.

“We’re pleased that people continue to come forwards to get vaccinated, in particular the school holidays have meant we have seen a lot of younger people recently.  Remember, getting vaccinated remains the best way to gain the maximise protection against covid and avoid serious illness and/or hospitalisation.”

Whilst the rollout of the spring booster vaccination for those aged 75 or over has now been completed, there is a significant effort behind the scenes in planning for the next phase of the vaccination programme.

“There’s an autumn booster campaign coming, and we expect dates and the finer detail, in terms of who will be eligible to have this additional booster vaccination, to be confirmed shortly,” adds Julie.

“Our team are working extremely hard to prepare for this and we hope that eligible Lincolnshire people will come forwards to have their autumn booster vaccination when it is their turn, just as with previous rounds of the vaccination programme.  We will be ready to see you and, in conjunction with the NHS nationally, will continue to keep you updated.”

In the meantime, don’t forget that, if you haven’t had one dose already or completed your vaccination course, you can still get your 1st, 2nd or booster dose, either at one of the pop-up sessions listed on our Grab a Jab page – these are walk-ins which don’t require an appointment – or alternatively by booking an appointment online using the National Booking System or by calling 119. In addition, the Mass Vaccination Centre at Princess Royal Sports Arena (PRSA), Boston, is offering walk-ins for 5-11s and 12-17 year-olds, as well as 1st, 2nd and booster doses.
