Children and Adult Safeguarding Training

The NHS Lincolnshire ICB Safeguarding Team provide safeguarding adults and children level 3 training for general practices across Lincolnshire. See 2022 training dates and costs below.

  • Safeguarding Adults – Level 3

    Safeguarding Adults – Level 3

    Course Overview This course is for members of staff who are either new to the area or role and have not completed Safeguarding Adults Level 3 Training before.



    By the end of the course using, the ‘Think Family Strategy’ delegates will have the knowledge, understanding and skills to identify and respond to safeguarding concerns within your role.



    This will enable the provision of a high quality response to safeguarding adults, assisting staff in understanding their individual and collective responsibilities to ‘Think Family’ when safeguarding.



    Course Duration 09:00 to 13:30



    Objectives By end of the course candidates will be able to identify:



    • Ways to help prevent abuse and neglect
    • The types of abuse and neglect
    • Local safeguarding arrangements
    • What to do if you suspect abuse
    • The importance of sharing information
    • The principles of the Mental Capacity Act and DoLS
    • Prevent

    Course Overview This course is for members of staff members who are new to the area or role and have not completed Safeguarding Children Level 3 Training before.



    The aim of this course is it enhance knowledge and skills to identify, risk assess, record and share concerns relating to vulnerable children and their families.



    Course Duration 09:30 to 14:30



    Objectives By end of the course candidates will be able to identify:



    • GP’s Role
    • Consent and information sharing
    • Situations, signs and symptoms of potential abuse
    • How to refer a safeguarding concern
    • Discussion of SCRs and CDOP
    • Current national and local policies, guidance and practice (and how to access it)
    • Fabricated and induced illness
    • Domestic violence
    • Forced marriage/honor based violence
    • Female genital mutilation
    • Prevent
    • Concealed pregnancy
    • LSCB pre-birth protocol
    • Risk factors linked to parenting capacity
    • Child sexual exploitation
    • LSCB escalation policy

    The aim of this course is to enhance knowledge and skills to identify, risk assess, record and share concerns relating to adults, vulnerable children and their families.



    Course Duration 09:30 to 16:30



    Course Content By end of the course candidates will be updated on:



    • Latest updates and legislation
    • GP’s Role
    • Consent and information sharing
    • How to refer a safeguarding concern
    • Discussion of local serious case reviews and safeguarding adult reviews
    • Current national and local policies, guidance and practice (and how to access it)
    • Domestic violence – local serious case reviews and domestic homicide reviews
    • Female genital mutilation update

Safeguarding Children Training

The Lincolnshire Safeguarding Children Partnership (LSCP) offer a wide variety of safeguarding training that covers a diverse range of subjects, which supports the development of practitioners in Lincolnshire who work with children, young people and their families. Training is delivered through a blended approach with face to face training and e-learning courses. Find out more

Safeguarding Children Toolkit: The RCGP Child Safeguarding Toolkit, provides busy practitioners with an easily navigable resource to ensure excellence in safeguarding practice in Primary Care. The toolkit can be used by any general practice in the UK and can be found on the Royal College of General Practitioners website.

Safeguarding Adults Training

The Lincolnshire Safeguarding Adults Board (LSAB) offer a wide variety of safeguarding training that covers a diverse range of subjects, which supports the development of practitioners in Lincolnshire who work with adults and their families. Safeguarding Adults Toolkit: RCGP Safeguarding Adults at Risk of Harm Toolkit: Social care takes the lead in adult safeguarding but primary care is key in identifying adults at risk, and therefore reporting abuse or potential abuse to the local safeguarding adults team.The toolkit can be used by any general practice in the UK and can be found on the Royal College of General Practitioners website.
