Monday May 5th is World Hand Hygiene Day as part of the ‘SAVE LIVES: Clean Your Hands’ campaign. The event is promoted by the World Health Organization to improve hand hygiene in healthcare.

With Monday 5th being a bank holiday, we, the ICB Health Protection Team are hosting an event on Monday April 28th instead.

Please come along to the Pelham room at Bridge House on 28th to see the impact of good hand hygiene. We’ve been doing some experiments with ICB staff to visibly demonstrate just how unclean our hands can be, and what impact hand-washing has on this, and subsequently on human health and the working environment.

We’d love you to come along to the event to see the results of this work and find out more about hand hygiene. There may be some freebies, and there will be cake!
