NHS Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) works with health service providers and a range of other local partner organisations in the county to ensure that all Lincolnshire vulnerable/at risk adult and children are protected. We are responsible for ensuring all of the services we commission are safe and effective. We ensure that safeguarding is everyone’s business by working closely with many different people and organisations in Lincolnshire.

Research shows that some parents and caregivers can lose control when a baby’s crying becomes too much. Some go on to shake a baby with devastating consequences.

Abusive Head Trauma (AHT) causes catastrophic brain injuries, which can lead to death, or significant long-term health and learning disabilities.

ICON is a programme adopted by health and social care organisations in the UK to provide information about infant crying, including how to cope, support parents/carers, reduce stress and prevent abusive head trauma in babies.

Speak to someone if you need support such as your family, friends, midwife, GP or health visitor.

LICB Safeguarding Team
The NHS Lincolnshire ICB Safeguarding Team works on behalf of NHS Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) to safeguard children, young people and adults at risk of abuse and neglect.

Amongst other functions, the key roles of the Lincolnshire Safeguarding Team include:
Advice and support to primary Care regarding safeguarding concerns
Advise and support the ICB in the execution of their statutory safeguarding duty
Ensure that organisations from which the ICB commission services provide robust assurance that their service(s) safeguard children, young people and adults at risk of abuse or neglect

Care Leaver Prescription Pre-Payment Certificate

From 1 August 2023, NHS Lincolnshire ICB will fund prepayment prescription certificates for care leavers aged 18 to 25 years who are not entitled to free prescriptions under current exemptions. Across Lincolnshire there is a strong commitment from agencies to deliver a consistently high-quality core offer of support for Care Leavers.
