Diabetes UK invites young people aged 11 to 15 who are living with type 1 diabetes to a free bowling afternoon this August. The event provides a fun, supportive space where attendees can meet others their age who understand what it’s like to manage the condition.
Join us in Boston
The event takes place on Thursday 7 August 2025 at Boston Bowl, 9 Rochford Tower Lane, Boston, PE21 9RH. Activities will run from 1.15pm to 3.15pm, and we ask everyone to arrive by 1.00pm to ensure a prompt start.
Young people will have the chance to bowl, socialise, and enjoy time with others living with type 1 diabetes. Trained staff from Diabetes UK will supervise the event and provide support throughout.
Who can attend?
Diabetes UK welcomes young people aged 11 to 15 who have a diagnosis of type 1 diabetes. The event is free to attend, and places will go to the first 20 individuals who register.
A parent or carer must accompany each young person and remain on site for the full duration of the event.
What to bring
To take part, each young person must bring:
- a blood glucose meter
- insulin
- hypo treatment
Without these essential items, we cannot allow participation. Diabetes UK staff will also bring hypo treatments in case of emergencies.
We recommend wearing comfortable, sporty clothing and trainers to ensure everyone can move easily and enjoy the activities safely.
