Glebe Park Surgery Opens Doors to the Community at Grand Opening Event

Glebe Parking Surgery - The official ribbon-cutting ceremony, led by Councillor Clare Smalley, Deputy Mayor of Lincoln

Glebe Park Surgery welcomed patients, local residents, and special guests to its new premises at The Carlton Centre on Tuesday 1st July, celebrating the official opening of its state-of-the-art facilities.

The event was a fantastic success. Visitors enjoyed guided tours of the modern surgery, met the friendly team, and witnessed the official ribbon-cutting ceremony, led by Councillor Clare Smalley, Deputy Mayor of Lincoln.

Speaking at the event, Councillor Smalley said: “It’s a real honour to be part of this special day. The new Glebe Park Surgery is a fantastic facility that will serve the community for years to come. You can see how much care and thought has gone into creating a space that’s welcoming and fit for the future of healthcare in Lincoln.”

Dr. Robert Jackson-Lawrence, GP Partner at Glebe Park Surgery, commented:

“It was a real pleasure to see so many patients and members of the community exploring the new premises. This space represents a huge step forward in the way we can deliver care – not just in terms of facilities, but also in how we work as a team to support our patients.”

A Collaborative Effort

NHS Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) supported the project and collaborated with several partners to bring the development to life.

Sarah-Jane Mills, Director for Primary Care and Community and Social Value at NHS Lincolnshire ICB, said:

“This new facility is a great example of how we’re investing in primary care infrastructure across Lincolnshire. Glebe Park Surgery’s new premises will not only enhance the care experience for patients but also support the health and wellbeing of the local community for years to come. It’s a real step forward in providing modern, accessible, and patient-centred care.”

Lincolnshire Co-op owns the Carlton Centre and invested £1.7m in the works to transform the unit into the new surgery. Eddisons carried out the consultancy work, and Gelder Group Ltd. completed the surgery works.

Daniel Garfoot, Director Eddisons (Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers), said:

“It was a real pleasure to be involved with this project and to be working with the Lincolnshire Co-op, The Primary Care Trust, Glebe Park Surgery and Gelders. The team worked very well to deliver a well located and much needed facility for the patients.”

Steve Gelder MBE FCGI, Gelder Group’s CEO, added:

We’re incredibly proud to have played a part in delivering this important project for the community. Glebe Park Surgery is more than just a building – it’s a place where people will receive care, support, and reassurance. It’s been a pleasure working with the dedicated team behind the vision. We’re delighted to see it open its doors.”
