Gosberton Medical Centre in Lincolnshire is celebrating after being rated ‘Outstanding’ following its latest inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), recognising the high standard of care provided to patients across the practice.

The rural practice, which cares for around 8,250 patients, received an Outstanding rating for being effective and responsive, with safe, caring and well-led services rated as good.

High-quality, patient-centred care

Inspectors highlighted the practice’s strong focus on delivering care that meets people’s individual needs and improves health outcomes.

Staff were praised for treating patients with kindness, compassion and respect, involving them in decisions about their care and ensuring information is shared in a clear and accessible way.

A range of initiatives support patients’ wider health and wellbeing, including social prescribing, health walks, a wellbeing hub and other community-based activities designed to help people stay well and independent.

Strong leadership and a positive culture

The report also recognised the practice’s positive culture, with leaders and staff working together to continuously improve services and deliver the best possible care.

Clear systems are in place to listen to feedback, learn from experience and make ongoing improvements, helping to ensure patients receive safe, effective and responsive care.

The practice was also commended for its strong partnership working, collaborating closely with local health and care services to provide joined-up, coordinated support for patients.
