Community services

GP

As you approach adulthood you may need to take more responsibility for contacting and arranging care with your GP surgery. If you have specific needs with regards contacting or attending appts at your GP practice then it is worth discussing with the practices so they can support
Prescriptions

Prescriptions are free until you turn 16, or 18 if you are in full-time education. If you receive Universal Credit, you can have free prescriptions until age 20.

As an adult, you could receive free prescriptions if you have particular health conditions or circumstances. Check what help you may get with NHS costs.
Dentists

Anyone under 18, or 19 if they are in full-time education, can receive free dental care at an NHS dentist. After that, you may need to pay for treatments. Find out more about who is entitled to free dental care or help with costs.
