Local telephone number to help patients book Covid-19 vaccination

A local telephone number will be launched on Monday 22nd April, to enable patients at a small number of GP practices who have opted out of the Covid-19 spring campaign to call and book an appointment to have their Covid-19 vaccination.

The introduction of the telephone number 01522 301940 has been timed to coincide with the expansion of the Covid-19 spring campaign – to include adults aged 75 and over, as well as individuals aged 6 months and over who are immunosuppressed – from Monday 22nd April.

The 01522 301940 number will be available between 10am and 2pm every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from next week until the end of June, except for w/c 6th May when it will be open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday due to the Bank Holiday Monday.

It is specifically for eligible patients at the GP practices listed below, since these practices have opted out of the Covid-19 spring campaign:

  • Branston & Heighington Family Practice
  • The Heath Surgery
  • Washingborough Family Practice
  • Merton Lodge Surgery
  • Spilsby Surgery
  • Stickney Surgery
  • Old Leake Medical Centre
  • Liquorpond Surgery
  • Sidings Medical Practice
  • Beacon Medical Practice
  • Hawthorn Medical Practice
  • Marisco Medical Practice
  • Lakeside Stamford
  • The Suttons Medical Group

“The 01522 301940 number will be answered by a member of our team and is an additional option for these patients, who can also book online using the National Booking System www.nhs.uk/get-vaccine, the key difference being that the 01522 301940 number will book in appointments at the Weighing Rooms in Lincoln, whereas the National Booking System will book appointments at a local community pharmacy.

“It’s actually more of a reintroduction of the number, since we successfully used it in previous Covid-19 vaccination campaigns for exactly the same purpose – to provide eligible patients at opted out GP practices the opportunity to book an appointment to have their Covid-19 vaccination, in this case in Lincoln at the Weighing Rooms if they wish to do so,” explains Karen Hewinson, Head of Clinical Services, Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust.

Patients at all other GP practices in the county who are eligible will be invited by their practice to make an appointment for their Covid-19 vaccination, although, provided you are eligible, you do not have to wait to be invited – you can book online using the National Booking System.
