Resources for you

We’ve created a range of helpful resources to support you during your pregnancy and after your baby is born: Better Births Lincolnshire.

What are we doing to support families in Lincolnshire?

  • Helping pregnant women to stop smoking

We’re proud to have an amazing STAAR Team (Stop Smoking – Action, Advise, Refer) who offer one-to-one support to pregnant women throughout their pregnancy to help them quit smoking.

Quitting is one of the best things you can do for your health and your baby’s. If you can stop for just 28 days, you’re five times more likely to quit for good!

The STAAR Team has already helped many women in Lincolnshire successfully quit smoking during pregnancy—with personalised support, free nicotine replacement therapy, and regular check-ins to keep you on track

Visit Stop Smoking Support | Better Births Lincs for contact details.

  • Improving our perinatal pelvic health services

Your pelvic health matters—it helps keep the muscles, ligaments, and organs in your lower belly working as they should. These muscles help with bladder and bowel control and support other organs in your body.

Pregnancy and childbirth can put extra strain on your pelvic floor, which may lead to discomfort, pain, or even leakage of wee and poo. While these issues are common, they're not something you have to just put up with—help is available.

Talk to your midwife about the Perinatal Pelvic Health services who can provide specialist support mums and mums-to-be. For more information visit Pelvic Health | Better Births Lincs.

  • Improving breastfeeding support to mothers

If you choose to breastfeed, you might have questions or worries—but you're not alone.

We've put together helpful resources to give you guidance and reassurance. Plus, if you need extra support, our Infant Feeding Support Workers are here to help with one-on-one advice. Just ask your midwife or health visitor for a referral.
