Want to learn about contraception options? Need information on managing the menopause? Looking for local cervical screening services? Or perhaps you need general women’s health advice on pre-conception care, breast pain, or STI screening?
Introducing the Women’s Health App CONNECTPlus
Answers to these common queries and more are now available at your fingertips. A new app for women in Lincolnshire has been launched to coincide with International Women’s Day on Saturday, 8 March 2025.
The Women’s Health App, CONNECTPlus, developed by Health and Care Innovations Ltd, provides advice and guidance on a wide range of female wellbeing topics. These include breast pain, pessary fitting, pelvic health, and information about violence against young girls and women.

Empowering women with trusted information
Clair Raybould, Executive Director for System Delivery and Women’s Health Champion at NHS Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board, said:
“Women have told us they want to take charge of their wellbeing, and we want to support them. The CONNECTPlus app is here to help. It provides trusted and useful information to help women understand their bodies better and navigate health and care options in Lincolnshire.
The app also aims to dispel myths and advise women on when to seek help. I encourage every woman in the county to download the app and explore the wide range of services available.”
Addressing a gap in women’s health knowledge
The 2021 national survey, ‘Women’s Health – Let’s Talk About It,’ highlighted a lack of information on key health topics. Out of nearly 100,000 respondents:
- Only 17% felt they had enough information on menstrual wellbeing.
- Just 9% felt they had sufficient information about the menopause.
- Only 8% felt they had enough knowledge about gynaecological conditions such as endometriosis and fibroids.
- A common concern was that healthcare professionals were not listening.
CONNECTPlus aims to bridge this information gap and provide women with the knowledge they need to make informed health decisions.
