At the halfway point of the latest Covid-19 vaccination campaign, more than 59,000 Covid-19 vaccinations have been given across Lincolnshire since the campaign launched on 1st April.
Eligible people across the county have once again come forwards in considerable numbers and taken up the offer of a Covid-19 vaccination, building their protection against the disease.
“We’re pleased with the response so far. Although there’s no doubt we’d like to see more people come forward,” comments Steve Clapton, Head of Immunisation and Screening, NHS Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board. “We have plenty of capacity in terms of appointment availability and I’d strongly encourage anyone eligible to book and get their Covid-19 vaccination.”
Who is eligible?
The Covid-19 vaccination is free. Groups eligible for the current campaign – listed below – are the same as the previous spring campaign, with the addition of immunocompromised people in younger age groups:
- Adults aged 75 years and over. If you are 74 but turn 75 years old by 17 June 2025, you don’t have to wait for your birthday to come forward.
- Residents in a care home for older adults
- Individuals aged 6 months and over who have a weakened immune system
“Although you may have had previous Covid-19 vaccinations, the immunity provided by these will wane over time so it is very important that if you are in one of the eligible groups you come forward for your Spring vaccination.
“These are the groups of people that are most likely to become seriously ill from Covid-19, which is why we are focusing our efforts on offering them the vaccination. If you are eligible you do not need to wait for the NHS to contact you, you can make an appointment now,” adds Steve.
How to get your Covid-19 vaccination in Lincolnshire:
The Covid-19 vaccination will be available for five more weeks until 17 June 2025. There is good availability of appointments across Lincolnshire. You can book appointments online using the National Booking System www.nhs.uk/bookcovid, by calling 119 or by using the NHS app.
