Washingborough Family Practice is delighted to announce the completion of a major extension and refurbishment project, significantly enhancing facilities for patients and staff.
Enhancing facilities for patients and staff
The expansion has created three additional clinical rooms, bringing the total to ten. These now include six GP consultation rooms, two nurse rooms, a dedicated phlebotomy room, and an upgraded treatment room designed for minor operations. The treatment suite also benefits from a new scrub room, a designated storeroom, and a patient changing room.
Further improvements include:
- A newly designed private space for the health kiosk, allowing patients to check height, weight, blood pressure, and complete health questionnaires in comfort and privacy.
- A new boiler room to support more efficient and sustainable operations.
- A designated disabled drop-off and pick-up bay, positioned at the same level as the new entrance to improve accessibility.

Growing our team
With the additional space, the practice can continue to accommodate its growing team. Alongside four GP partners, Washingborough Family Practice now has two salaried GPs, three GP registrars, and also supports nursing student placements. With a patient list of over 9,200 and rising daily, the expansion ensures the practice can keep pace with demand while maintaining high standards of care and training.
“This expansion is an exciting step forward for us,” said Dr Jago Ridout, Senior GP Partner at Washingborough Family Practice. “The new facilities mean we can continue to provide excellent care for our patients, while also supporting the next generation of doctors and nurses.”
Funding and support
The project was made possible with the support of NHS England’s capital funding, alongside additional investment by the practice.
Washingborough Family Practice would also like to thank the estates team at NHS Lincolnshire ICB for their invaluable support in bringing the project to completion.
Sarah-Jane Mills, Director for Primary Care and Community and Social Value at NHS Lincolnshire ICB, said:
“We are delighted to have supported Washingborough Family Practice in delivering this much-needed expansion. These improvements will make a real difference to patients by increasing clinical capacity, enhancing accessibility, and ensuring high-quality facilities for both staff and the community.”
