Workforce and skills
In 2023, the national NHS Long Term Workforce Plan was published. This was the first comprehensive workforce plan for the NHS, putting staffing on a sustainable footing and improving patient care. It focuses on retaining existing talent and making the best use of new technology alongside the biggest recruitment drive in health service history.
Right people, right places, best care
In Lincolnshire, we have a dedicated People team, who work across the health and care sector, and very closely with colleagues from the public and private sector in the county, to ensure we have the right people in the right places to provide the best possible care.
What are we doing? Our initiatives
We have a number of initiatives including:
- Supporting recruitment, so we attract the right people
- Aiding retention, so that our brilliant workforce want to stay with the NHS
- Working with educational partners in the county to ‘grow our own’ talent. For example, we were closely involved in the development of the Medical School at the University of Lincoln
- Making sure that the right training opportunities are available to our staff
- Supporting clinicians to plan and implement the right team structures for their service
Explore health careers
You can explore over 350 careers, compare specific opportunities and take the ‘Find a Career quiz on the Health Careers website. Anyone working within the NHS should feel part of a team in which we bring out the very best in one another – inspiring each and every person to unleash their potential.
ICB vacancies
Most NHS jobs are advertised through the NHS jobs website.
This website allows you to search for a wide range of jobs in the NHS by job type, location and pay band. Our ICB does have a recruitment and selection procedure that, where appropriate, allows us to post vacancies internally.
