Gender identity engagement

We aim for everyone who works in or requires health and social care services in Lincolnshire to be confident that those services are responsive, inclusive, person-centred, and underpinned by our principles of compassion, dignity, respect, and safety.

We recognise that working in and accessing health and social care services as a transgender or non-binary person can be a complex and challenging experience.  We consider a transgender person to be a person whose gender is different from their assigned sex at birth, and a non-binary person to be a person who does not identify as exclusively a man or a woman.  We are developing the Lincolnshire Gender Identity Policy Framework, which will cover the entire NHS in Lincolnshire. This framework will set out the expected standards for gender non-conforming people when accessing services and receiving care. If you are transgender or non-binary, we particularly want to hear your thoughts and experiences to shape this policy framework and improve our services and your experiences.
