Supporting local communities is at the heart of an innovative partnership between the NHS in the county and Lincolnshire Co-op, who are working together to build a new premises for Glebe Park Surgery, Lincoln.
Glebe Park Surgery, NHS Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board, and the Lincolnshire Co-op have joined forces with the City of Lincoln Council to deliver a new site at the city’s Carlton Centre Retail Park, with a planned completion date in Spring 2025.
Currently located on Montaigne Crescent in Glebe Park, Glebe Park Surgery announced its intention last year to move to a new site that will triple the space available currently, creating a modern healthcare setting for patients and staff with eight clinical rooms and access to car parking.
Debbie Brennan, Practice Manager at Glebe Park Surgery said: “We are very excited to embark on this new opportunity which will allow us to continue to serve the growing local population, whilst being able to offer new and existing primary care services under one roof.”
Dr Robert Jackson-Lawrence, GP Partner at Glebe Park Surgery said: “Having additional space will allow us to improve the care we offer our patients. We look forward to expanding our teams.”
The plans were supported by NHS Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) who are responsible for arranging for the provision of services and bringing the local NHS together to improve Lincolnshire’s health and wellbeing.
Sarah-Jane Mills, Director for Primary Care and Community and Social Value at NHS Lincolnshire ICB said: “This is another great example of local organisations working together to improve patient care. Alongside our partners at Glebe Park Surgery, the Lincolnshire Co-op and City of Lincoln Council, we share a collective commitment to supporting local communities. We are thrilled that building work is due to begin and excited about the difference this will make to both staff and patients of Glebe Park Surgery.”
The new premise is owned by Lincolnshire Co-op. Head of Property Kevin Kendall said: “Caring for our community’s health and wellbeing is an important part of Lincolnshire Co-op’s purpose. We’re delighted to be able to use our property expertise and work in partnership with the NHS to support the development and expansion of Glebe Park Surgery, which will have a positive impact on thousands of local people who use those valued services.”
