LIVES wants to hear your views on the expansion of its Falls Response Service

Lincolnshire Integrated Voluntary Emergency Service (LIVES) is expanding its Falls Response Service and would welcome your views via a short survey (see link below).

Current LIVES Falls Response Service:

Lincolnshire’s population is increasing, including those over 65 years old who are more likely to have multiple illnesses. The over 65’s are also more likely to experience falls. To support those who have a fall to receive treatment at home and avoid unnecessary trips to hospital, in Lincolnshire LIVES has:

  • 3 dedicated LIVES (Lincolnshire Integrated Voluntary Emergency Service) Falls Response Unit vehicles which are available 12 hours every day (8am-8pm).
  • Lincolnshire Community Health Service 2-hr Urgent Community Response which is also available 12 hours every day (8am-8pm).

Future LIVES Falls Response Service:

LIVES is hoping to extend the current 8am – 8pm hours of operation, with one additional car covering eight extra hours every day (8pm – 2am and 6am to 8am). The proposed shifts would be:

  • 1x 6am-6pm
  • 2x 8am-8pm
  • 1x 6pm-2am

The additional car would be based in the east of the county, because data shows this part of the county is the area where the highest number of falls take place. The car will cover other parts of the county, if it is available, and of course the ambulance service (EMAS) would continue to attend any additional falls patients as well.
