Assurance of our patient and public involvement

Our Integrated Care Board governance structures have been established to support patient and public participation and evidence how their involvement influences the ICB’s decision making. They also ensure our patient and public involvement activities are monitored and assured.

Our Non Executive Director (NED) for Patient Experience and Engagement is a key member of the ICB’s board and committee meetings and provides visibility and accountability at both levels. The NED’s responsibilities in the ICB are to provide assurance on the involvement of people and communities in our decision making and to offer advice and challenge to the Integrated Care Board from a patient perspective which ensures that patients and the public are at the heart of decision making.

Reports on our engagement and outcomes are reported to a number of boards, steering groups and committees through the ICB.
