On Saturday 26th November, The Sidings Medical Practice in Boston will celebrate “International Day.” The event, which is open to the public, will take place from 11:00 to 15:00 at the practice’s location at 14 Sleaford Rd, Boston PE21 8EG.
The aim of the event is to highlight the accessibility of various healthcare services to the diverse community of Boston with language translators on-hand throughout the day.
Many activities and festive gifts are planned including health checks, raffle, goody bags, internationally themed holiday treats, plus fun for the kids: face paint and glitter tattoos.
The event provides an opportunity for local residents to obtain healthcare information and health checks in an accessible way, especially if they are new to the area. As such, there will be multi-lingual translators on hand to introduce the public to the many free health services available in Boston, including Macmillan cancer Support, PAB, Social Prescribing, One You, Evergreen, Boston Recovery Pathways, Empowering Healthy Communities Health, and the Wellbeing and Housing Officer from the Boston Borough Council.
Members of The Sidings Practice will also provide information on the practice but particularly on Cervical Screening and Immunisations
Dr. James Barratt, GP for The Sidings Medical Practice said, “the event will highlight the healthcare services available and how we can support the people living in the Boston area, from all communities. We wish to support our residents with their physical and mental health, as well as support the social wellbeing of the local community.”
