Update on the transfer of patients registered at Spalding GP Surgery

Health leaders have updated that patients currently registered at Spalding GP Surgery will start to be transferred over to their new GP practice from the beginning of February.

Patients registered at Spalding GP Surgery have all now received a letter confirming the GP practice they are being transferred to.

NHS Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board (ICB), the NHS body responsible for the provision of health services in the county, said the transfer of patient registrations will begin on Wednesday the 1st of February.  This will be a phased approach across the three GP practices where the patients from Spalding GP Surgery are transferring to.

The ICB confirmed the phased approach will take place as follows:

Patients transferring to Gosberton Medical Centre

The transfer of patients to Gosberton Medical Centre will take place between 1st and 14th February 2023. Patients will be contacted by the practice once their registration has been completed. Patients should continue to access services at Spalding GP Surgery until they have been contacted.

Patients transferring to Beechfield Medical Centre

The transfer of patients to Beechfield Medical Centre will take place automatically from 4.30pm on the 7th of February 2023. Patients will be able to access services at Beechfield Medical Centre from 8.00am on the 8th of February 2023.

Patients transferring to Munro Medical Centre

The transfer of patients to Munro Medical Centre will take place automatically from 4.30pm on the 8th of February 2023. Patients will be able to access services at Munro Medical Centre from 8.00am on the 9th of February 2023.

Patients are asked not to contact their new GP practice to check on the progress of their transfer.

Disruption to services

On the days the patient transfers take place, there will be no access to services at Beechfield and Munro Medical Centres, or Spalding GP Surgery from 4.00pm.  This is due to the update required to the clinical systems.

While clinical systems are being updated, patients are advised to use alternative services during these times, including using their nearest community pharmacy, NHS 111, or the Urgent Treatment Centre at The Johnson Community Hospital.

Patients are also advised to continue accessing services at Spalding GP Surgery until their registrations have been transferred.

Sarah-Jane Mills, Director for Primary Care, Communities and Social Values at NHS Lincolnshire ICB, said: “We appreciate that the process to register patients from Spalding GP Surgery to an alternative GP Practice has taken longer than planned and again we thank everyone involved for their patience.”

Patients who have any further questions or who require their letter in another format or language should contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) by telephone on 0300 123 9553 or by email at LHNT.LincsPALS@nhs.net. The service is open 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday (except Bank Holidays). PALS will direct any questions to the ICB for a response.
