A new provider will take over the running of The Sidings Medical Practice, Boston, with effect from Thursday 1st September.
Omnes Healthcare has been awarded a five-year contract to run the GP practice following a rigorous and detailed procurement process run by NHS Lincolnshire ICB.
Previously run under a caretaking contract by Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS), patients registered at The Sidings Medical Practice should experience a seamless transition as Omnes Healthcare takes over.
“After an extensive procurement process, we are delighted to have been able to award the contract to run The Sidings Practice to Omnes Healthcare, who have considerable experience providing GP services as well as other relevant services,” comments Sarah-Jane Mills, Director for Primary Care and Community and Social Values, NHS Lincolnshire ICB.
“We were very impressed with what Omnes Healthcare have to offer and we will work closely with them to ensure that it’s very much a case of business as usual from the point of view of patients registered at the practice, with minimal disruption as the new contract gets underway.”
The 17,000 patients registered at The Sidings Medical Practice will not experience any changes to the practice’s opening hours as a result of the contract award and will still be able to access the same level of GP services in the same way they are already used to.
“We’ve written to all patients to introduce ourselves and to confirm we will be taking over the contract from 1st September,” explains Jane Bacon, Chief Operating Officer, Omnes Primary Care. “For us continuity of services is key, and in the best possible way our intention is that patients won’t notice any difference when we take over on 1st September.”
The transition from LCHS to Omnes Healthcare will mean that patients do not need to do anything. They will remain registered with the practice and will be able to access the same services.
“We are confident we will be able to have a smooth transition from LCHS, hence our focus on business as usual. In addition to writing to patients, we have already reached out to a number of key stakeholders locally, including the local Primary Care Network, and we look forward to working with them in the future,” adds Jane. More information, including a Frequently Asked Questions, will shortly be available via the practice’s website www.thesidingsmedicalpractice.co.uk/.
